Everyone is talking about voting today, so why should I be any different? I have a cute story about voting in my household.
Noah’s been talking and learning about voting and elections at school. Let me back up a second and explain that for the past three years, Noah has wanted a REAL LIVE reindeer for Christmas. I have told him that we are not allowed to have reindeers as pets in this area that it’s against the law. I know, I’m such a mean mom for not letting him have a real live reindeer! Ha!
So somehow between his conversations at school and the ones at home, he’s decided that in today’s election, you will be able to vote to change the law and allow people in our area to have reindeers as pets. Guess what will be on that Christmas wish list, AGAIN?!?
It’s kind of funny, Noah wants to own a real live reindeer and Charlie wants to be Santa and even asked for and received a mini Santa suit for his birthday. Quite a pair, huh?
We’ve always taken Noah with us to the polling place while we vote. I think it’s important for kids to see their parents actually voting, ya know. They learn by example so to speak.
I don’t care who or what you’re voting for, but just go vote!! Let your voice be heard!
Unfortunately, there will be a little boy a tad bit sad in our household tonight when that reindeer law doesn’t pass.
