Sunday Inspiration: My Life is but a Weaving

I recently came across this poem and instantly fell in love with it. It talks about how God weaves the events in our lives and I truly believe that.

I don’t necessarily believe that it was in God’s plan for me to become unexpectdly pregnant at a time in my life that I couldn’t care for my baby . But I do believe, that once my mistakes (meaning my pregnancy, NOT Charlie) had been set into motion and my choice about placing Charlie for adoption had been made, God interviened and led me on the path that I am now on.

I do believe that He matched me with the awesome parents for Charlie. I believe that He opened the doors to BirthMom Buds and He opened the doors to this blogging position so that I could encourage others who are walking in my path.

My Life Is But A Weaving
By Grant Tuller

My life is like a weaving
Between my God and Me
I do not choose the colors;
He worketh steadily.

Ofttimes He chooseth sorrow,
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.

Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the skillful Weaver’s hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

Wow that really does make sense in how things in our lives sometimes work out in ways that we can not comprehend at the time they happen. I beleve that God always knows what he's doing and even though we may not understand, we someday will. Awesome poem.

Great poem! Thanks for sharing it. Since God sees the big picture and we can't, it can be hard to accept the dark threads while we are in the midst of them, but I know those are the times that I grow the most.
