It’s summer time!
Summer is a great time to plan visits with your child as it’s just a pretty laid back time of year since a lot of children (unless they attend year round schooling or are home schooled) have no school. But you may be lacking for ideas of what you could do during summer time visits.
Don’t worry; I have some ideas for you! These ideas are geared towards pre-school to middle school aged children.
- Try meeting somewhere fun such as an amusement park or a water park. Summertime is a great time to hit a water park and make some memories while splashing or ride some roller coasters and scream together! No water park near by? Head to the neighborhood pool! No amusement park near by? Go to your local fun park and ride some go carts or play miniature golf.
- Melting in the summer heat? Movie theaters are always cold in the summertime so catch a flick and pig out on some popcorn.
- Plan a barbecue or a picnic. Let your child help you prepare the food.
- Make some homemade ice cream with your child. Discuss each of your favorite flavors and come up with a neat combination that merges your favorite flavors. Make extra so that he/she can have some later and think of your time together.
- Go to the local park or the zoo. The park with all the slides and swings can be a lot of fun. On zoo trips you can teach your child about different animals.
- Go to a sporting event. What better time to enjoy America’s favorite past time, baseball, than summer. And what better person to go catch a baseball with than your child and family!
Most importantly, have fun and stay cool!
