Another month bites the dust! It’s hard to believe that the months are ticking by so quickly!
The month passed quickly in the blogs as well as I did a series of birthday posts since Charlie’s birthday is in September. I kicked off the birthday bonanza with a
trip down memory lane looking back at each of Charlie’s birthdays up until this point. For those birthmoms who are able to attend their child’s birthday party, I shared some
tips to make the party fun for all involved and since not all birthmothers can attend their child’s birthday parties and celebrate with them in person, I discussed some ways you could
honor your child if you can not be with him or her on their birthday. I shared my
gift giving traditions as well as the gift giving traditions of several other birthmothers. I ended the birthday bonanza with a
recap of Charlie’s birthday dinner at my house.
As I was celebrating my own birthday this month, I did a lot
reflecting on my life and
my role in life as a mother.
I also
discussed the hurdles that may come up in your open adoption and shared
tips on how to make it to the other side of these hurdles and still remain extended family.
This month I
interviewed Laura Christianson who is an adoptive mother participating in two open adoptions. She has also recently written two books on adoption, one of those being
The Adoption Network which I reviewed.
The Love Thursday posts are usually my favorites and this month was no different as I shared
Charlie’s Compassion with you. The post,
Promises Kept, discussed how Charlie’s adoptive parents have kept the promises they made to me. I ended the month with a Love Thursday post about
Charlie’s Kindergarten Diploma.
I’m sure October will prove to be a busy month as well, so stay tuned!
