Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you are like me, you may want to do or send something extra special for your child in honor of this holiday. While some may think that Valentine’s Day is a day to show your significant other how much they are loved, I think it’s an excellent day to show any loved ones in your life that they are loved.
If you are looking for ideas as to what to send your child for Valentine’s Day, I have a few ideas for you. You could go very simple or go a little more elaborate, either way though; your child will know that you are thinking of him/her.
Send your child a card. You could just buy a card at the store or if you are feeling especially creative you could make a card using scrapbooking supplies like stamps, cardstock, die cuts, and stickers.
Now that Charlie is getting a little older, I like to send inexpensive yet fun things that will occupy him or entertain him for a bit such as:
Jokes – You can find some great Valentine’s Day jokes for children
here. I usually print them out, fold them up, and then put them in a decorative baggie. He enjoys telling them to his family and making them laugh.
Coloring sheets – You can find lots of free printable coloring pages online. Check out these: Valentine’s Day
Themed Coloring Pages or
Valentine’s Day Coloring Book.
You can combine the two ideas of sending jokes and coloring pages with
these great coloring sheets with riddles.
Another quick and easy idea is to take a photo or write a message on to a piece of cardstock and then cut it up and it becomes a
puzzle that your child has to put together to either see the picture or read the message.
Small stuffed animals and candy are great ideas as well but be sure to check with your child’s adoptive parents about the candy if this hasn’t come up already in your relationship.
Do you send your child anything for Valentine’s Day and if so, what?
