After that, it took me a year to find someone who had any adoption experience. I've paid out a lot of money in the past three years but from recent events and how I've handled them, it's been worth it. I find it surprising how a therapist would have her own child in there....let alone be aware of your own issues related to adoption.<br /> <br /> There are few to none therapists out there that specialize in the area. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to do so and provide telephonic counselling b/c of the lack of post-adoption services. There are few to none therapists out there that specialize in the area. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to do so and provide telephonic counselling b/c of the lack of post-adoption services. I am a reunited adoptee and have assisted others from all sides pre and post….I think it’s important to discuss one’s feelings about this area…the feelings are life-long…
