This month, thanks to
Jenna’s idea, I have written many posts about how I am thankful for various adoption related experiences and things in my life.

It’s been fun and challenging as it is sometimes hard to find adoption related things to write about in a positive light when for birthmothers there is a lot of sadness and grief involved in adoption.
Today, Thanksgiving, I want to write (or list rather) the non-adoption related things in my life that I am thankful for. Some of these things are even provide distractions at time that take me away from some of the overwhelming, bittersweet emotions that being a birthmother can bring to the surface.
Of course, I am thankful for all of the important things in my life such as God, my family, my husband, my children, my friends, my freedom etc.. but this list is more on the light side and consists of the more everyday things I am thankful for that in the hustle and bustle of everyday life we do not think about. So off the top of my head, here are some random, every day things that I am thankful for.
I am thankful for:
- The internet and my hobby of web design
- Scrapbooking
- Disney World
- Sushi
- The Melting Pot
- Mexican Food
- Purses
- Shopping
- Cell Phones
- My SUV
- The Today Show
- Baseball
- Microwavable Popcorn
- Coffee Ice cream
- Candles
- Music
- Pink lipstick
- Digital cameras
- Oprha
- You tube videos that make me laugh
- DVDs
- Bootie warmers in my SUV
And last but not least, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade! What a great tradition to watch while cooking!
So what are YOU thankful for?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
