There’s a new show coming on the WE channel that has the possibility of having the theme of adoption from time to time, more specifically adoption reunions.

The show, called, The Locator, features investigator Troy Dunn and he specializes in finding anyone that some one may be looking for such as lost loved ones, organ donors, birth relatives, etc.

This is the blurb taken from the show’s website about the show:

Troy Dunn is a phenomenon at reuniting people. From birth parents, to organ donors, his brilliant investigative skills are a marvel to all who see him in action. Join Troy on his emotional journeys, where everything from creative tactics to sheer luck provide breakthroughs in his quest to reunite loved ones and reconnect lives.

Troy’s background in locating people stems from personal experience. He had a friend who was adopted who had been looking for his birth mother, unsuccessfully. Troy’s mother was adopted as a baby and she herself had been looking for her birth mother over the years with no luck in locating her. Troy and his friend sat down one Saturday afternoon in 1990 with what information that his mother had collected over the years and in five hours they found his Mother’s birthmother’s phone number!

When he heard his Mother’s reaction to the news over the phone he was touched and he realized that there were lots of people out there looking for birth family members, lost loved ones, etc. That’s when he realized that he wanted to help people find the people they were looking for.

However, they do state on the website that his private investigating license is not current at this time but he does work with licensed private investigators that were either trained by him or have worked with him in the past.

You can watch a sneak peak of the show on the website. It airs on the WE Channel on Saturdays at 8 pm, starting tonight I don’t think I’ll be watching, but if anyone does, I’d be curious to know your thoughts – good and bad.
