Jenna and Daisy, thank you for your comments. I agree that these adoptive parents should be commended for thinking of their son's birthmother during this time in which their hearts are so full of sadness, grief, and shock.

Coley, I am glad I got the chance to read your article. I truly hope that this bmother is able to (re)unite with her son's aparents. I grieve for her, because she will never have the oppertunity to meet her son again as an adult. I hope that articles, like yours, will find her so that she can know she has the oppertunity to know her son through his parent's eyes. In my mind it is also a reflection of how much unselfish love the aparents have. It would hae been so easy for them to say nothing, and instead, in their time of struggle, they reach out, in a closed adoption, to the one person who loves that child as much as they do.

Oh, Coley. Thank you for sharing the story. I hope Sam's birth mother is able to get in contact with his parents. I can't imagine the grief. (And I also commend these parents for having the compassion and empathy to understand, even in their own time of grief and loss, that someone else is bound to be hurting.)
