I am so excited because today the phone company sent a fellow out to
finally hook up some DSL service for our home.
Yahooooooo!
With a daughter who might be starting virtual school soon, and a beleaguered mom who takes hours to download info and photos for this very blog, we finally decided to cave in, and get up to speed with the rest of the world. I have been living with the antiquated dial-up for so long, I almost forgotten there was another world out there, and a faster one at that. Being able to do things quicker, more efficiently is a real bonus no matter what your doing, so I am excited about the improvements and the possibilities.
Does anyone else out there wish there was a DSL for open adoption relationships?
I know that some days I would love to speed things up, and get to the heart of the experiences and the issues with adoption, all in the blink of an eye. It is hard to wait for things to show up, and then scramble to deal, but that is how it often is.
Adoption is really such a process, it is no wonder that adding a few extra mbps to the download of the learning curve is just next to impossible. Most of what we come learn as adoptive parents is what we can only begun to understand once we are actually living it all. As much as you might try to learn before you adopt, it barely compares to what you will find out once you are actually in the trenches. It might have been a huge help to know how I was going to feel about this, or wonder how to handle that, all before we were in the midst of our open adoptions, but just like my attempts at downloading videos at youtube, I just did not have the equipment to make it happen.
Oh but there is so much out there to learn, and I for one could really use all that information, like
NOW.
Well at least having the faster internet service will give me more opportunities to see some information that has been out there, but that I have not been prepared to handle before today. Maybe that is why we often move at a slower pace in our adoption learning? You get as much as you can handle, until your ready for an upgrade.
Already I frittered half the afternoon away watching all those darn youtube videos that would have taken me a decade to download before. It’s awesome! Oh, and I am sure that “awesome” is some out of date terminology, but give me time, I am getting up to speed as fast as I can.
Open Adoption- Easier For Adoptive Parents?
