On Sunday, September 17th at three PM pacific time, fellow birthmom Melanie Mosberg will be featured on the
Let’s Talk Adoption Radio Show hosted by Mardie Caldwell.
Let’s Talk Adoption is a half hour, weekly radio show hosted by adoptive Mom and founder of the Lifetime Foundation, Mardie Caldwell. The show features guests from all members of the triad. Through her interviews with guests, listeners are educated and supported no matter what their role in the triad may be. Topics covered on the show range from providing support to birthmothers, tips on beginning the adoption process, and the feelings of adoptees and birthmothers who have been reunited. You can sign up for a
free newsletter on the Let’s Talk Adoption Website that will keep you updated of when and what new shows will be airing.
As I mentioned above, Melanie Mosberg is a fellow birthmom. I was Melanie’s mentor while she was pregnant and making an adoption plan through the Pregnant and Placing program at BirthMom Buds. Melanie placed her daughter, Sarah, in an open adoption directly following her birth in 2004. Since her daughter’s birth, Melanie has become active in the adoption community and is now the Pregnant and Placing Coordinator for BirthMom Buds.
On Sunday's show, Melanie will share her personal adoption story and discuss the emotions that she feels as a birthmother. The show is mainly about the first year post placement and how to get through it and touches on a few topics: where to find the support you need, communication among adoptive parents and birth parents, positive adoption language, the benefits of journaling for birthmothers, the holidays, and what she is doing to help others who are going through the same situations.
Again – the show is on Sundays at three PM Pacific Time but archives of past shows are on the site and are available to listen to any time – day or night! So if you miss the airing on Sunday, check the archives and be sure to listen to Melanie’s tips and opinions about being a birthmother.
