Wow! A whole month come and gone!
I have tried in my first month to touch on a variety of things rather than put a heavy focus in one area. Hopefully by doing that all of you reading will get a broader idea of the type of things I would like to share here. I have put a bit of my own personal story out there as well, but believe me there is a lot more to come.
I have given my perception of a few things I have run across in the news, the
good and the
bad. I am really excited to share
my thoughts on various issues, even if not always so well received. Just being able to be heard is so wonderful and hopefully things I have put out there will resonate with someone who needs to hear.
I have shared part of my first child’s
adoption story, talked about
feelings you run into when your involved in an open adoption, and some topics of interest like
The Mommy Wars, and
Idealism and
Reality.
There have been a few posts about
birthparents, struggles with contact and just times when I have wondered
what exactly am I doing here. It was nice to hear from quite a few people that although they are not always responding, they are reading an interested. Many thanks!
Other bloggers have inspired me to write about
truly defining open adoption,
siblings who are separated by the process , and just how it can feel to actually be an
adoptive mom in an open arrangement. I like to think that I captured something that helps someone else at that same stage in their journey.
My co-blogger Coley and I worked together to do a great double take on the
top ten things that can make an open adoption run smooth. This was one of my best posts in my own opinion! I could not think of anyone better to work with either, many thanks to Coley.
One of my favorite post had to be the topic of obtaining
original birth certificates for your adopted child. I am a strong believer that this is something so simple we can do for our child and it can make a world of difference to them.
Over all the posts have covered so many things! I am just excited to be off to what I feel is a good start and am really looking forward to February and all the new ideas it will provide. I am learning as I go and it is an exciting process.
Thanks to everyone who is checking in to read and comment!
