Hey it won’t cost you a thing!
A bit unusual I admit, but something most of us do not think about. Women’s shelters and assistance programs go through a lot of things, diapers, toilet paper, shampoos and deodorant, but something people do not often consider donating is personal care items in the form of tampons or pads. Women use them, they are expensive, but does anyone ever donate them?
Right now you,
at no cost to yourself, can go to the Seventh Generation website
(http://www.tampontification.com/donate.php) and help women in shelters in your own state by donating a free box of feminine products. All it takes is a click of the mouse from you! You select the state in which you wish to donate, click the little heart and drag it into the pictured house and the free box is on its way to some mom who needs it. It’s easy, free, and something most of us would not think about sending to a woman in a home or program.
When ever our family visits the maternity home that our son’s birthmother stayed with during her pregnancy we like to bring along things to help the young mothers there. Most of the moms living in this particular home go on to parent their child and get training and assistance for housing and jobs, as well as education about parenting. Some do choose adoption too, as our son’s birthmother did. When we visit the home we have brought along diapers, toys, formula, clothing, toilet paper, towels, and even bibles, but I honestly never thought about the need for the monthly hygiene products. Isn’t that funny, because it’s not like I do not need those sort of things myself. It did come to mind when a friend sent me this great link and I like that I can just click and send something so simple that might not otherwise be received by mothers in need . Now that I am more aware I think we will add these kind of things to the donations we bring to the maternity home Carson’s first mother stayed in.
I would encourage everyone out there to give
the donation website a try!
It’s FREE for you and I am sure the moms will appreciate your generosity!
