December was a very busy and emotional month for me! I didn’t get to write as much as I wanted to between some tiny network issues when
they debuted the blog makeover, the holidays, being sick, and Noah being on Christmas vacation just to name a few.
Although I didn’t get to write as much as usual, I did manage to squeeze in some holiday related posts. I discussed
gift giving between birthmoms and their children as well as
buying gifts for your child’s sibling(s). For those who needed gift ideas, I shared some great
gifts that incorporate photos as well as some gift ideas for
baby’s first Christmas. I also discussed the
“ornament tradition” in which I buy or make Charlie (and his sister) a Christmas ornament each year.
After getting the gift giving ideas and issues out of the way, I dove into some of the issues that we as birthmothers have regarding the holidays in my post;
Christmas isn’t Always Merry for Everyone. In my post
Getting Through the Holidays with Other People, I shared some ways that you can get through the holidays while leaning on your friends, family, and others in your support network. While leaning on others is beneficial, spending a little “down time” with yourself is also healthy. I shared a few ideas of
things to during your down time. I also shared ways that you can
honor your child during the holidays.
The one Love Thursday post I squeezed in this month was about
a very special ornament that hung on my Christmas tree.
Wrapping up the month and the year, I shared some of my
favorite posts from 2007 as well as my thoughts upon
reflecting and looking back at all that has happened in 2007. I discussed
New Year’s Resolutions a bit and then to end the year off, I
summed up the year in just three little words!
Well, that is it folks! My last post for 2007. Happy New Year all!
