Is anyone else crazy enough to get out there and battle other maniacs (like me!) at the Black Friday sales? For some reason, I just love this and I’m lucky enough to have a husband who doesn’t mind fighting these crazy crowds of maniac shoppers either!
So for the past four years, each day after Thanksgiving, which has been coined Black Friday, we bundle up, get lots of coffee, and brave the crowds at a
very, very early hour. So early the sun isn’t up yet!
Shortly, I will be out at the stores battling those shoppers trying to save a buck and get a good deal. I’ve learned that if you are buying toys or electronics, these early bird savings are a good time to make those purchases! I got a really good deal on a Leap Pad Learning Electronic toy for Charlie last year.
Charlie called me yesterday morning a little bit before nine to wish me a happy Thanksgiving or “turkey day” as he said. I talked to him for a few minutes while he jabbered and jabbered about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which he was very excited to watch. He informed me it was coming on at nine o’clock on number (channel) four. Too cute! He also said two times that he loved me. And he said to tell Noah Happy Thanksgiving too without prompting!
I’ve
mentioned before that he has this habit of sometimes hanging up the phone as soon as we are done talking instead of handing it to his mom. Well, when it was towards the end of our conversation, I asked him to let me please speak to his Mom. This worked out well.
I talked with A for a few minutes. I of course, wanted to wish her and the family a happy Thanksgiving, but more than anything, I wanted gift suggestions for the kids!! They (Charlie and his sister) will be getting some kind of portable DVD player (this was a whispered conversation on her part as the kids were near by) for Christmas so DVD’s were a good suggestion so when I hit those Black Friday sales in just a little bit, I’ll be looking out for DVD’s for Charlie and N!
So, make your list and check it twice and have fun in the Black Friday Battles. As Wilma and Betty on the Flintstones say, “Charge!”
