It is hard to believe that it is already the end of April! May is going to be a super busy month for me, so I probably will not be around as much as usual.
One of the things I will be busy with is the Birthmother’s Get Together that BirthMom Buds hosts each year. It is on May 10th this year in Charlotte, North Carolina. It seems to get a little bigger and better every year. I’m especially excited about this year as we have added some elements that I have wanted to have since we started having these but we knew we had to start small and build our way up. This year we have planned something on Friday night for our out of town guests and we have added breakout sessions to our day on Saturday. The ladies will be able to choose which sessions to attend.
This year’s theme is beach bash and gathering decorations to match the theme has been fun. It is open to any and all birthmothers so if you are interested in attending, feel free to email me for more information.
My other big thing in May is a trip back home to Mississippi. My Uncle is getting married and I’m in the wedding so I will be there for that. A lot of my extended family will be there, such as second and third cousins, which I haven’t seen in at least ten years. I must admit I am a little nervous about seeing all of those relatives I haven’t seen in so long. I’m not quite sure who knows and who doesn’t know about Charlie and my status as a birthmother. I’ve been running through possible scenarios in my head so that I don’t feel so “on the spot” and at least have some sort of answer mapped out in my head.
