Early in the morning I am off to the local library to present a reading of author Sherrie Eldridge’s new adoption book, “Forever Fingerprints” in honor of National Adoption Day. Normally our family would simply spend the day together, but the opportunity to share this great book with others in the community was to good to pass up.
I am very excited about how EMK press, the books publisher, has also donated a copy to the library, as well as many other libraries, churches, and groups nationwide in a huge coast to coast reading event. Right now I believe that there is at least one reading scheduled in every state!
In order to encourage people to see the positives in adoption, and the beautiful connection every adopted child shares with their birthparents, the book was created, and is being so generously shared with as many as possible. I admit I was very pleased to see a book that speaks to birthparents in a positive light, as they are really the most forgotten during this month of adoption celebrations.
I am also please to announce that beginning TODAY, I will be taking your comments as an entry into my GIVEAWAY!
I am pleased to be offering a copy of the book “Forever Fingerprints” by Sherrie Eldridge, as well as another surprise book from EMK press to one lucky reader! Here is all you have to do…
Leave a little comment for me here, on this post, anytime from now through November 30th, and you will be automatically entered in the drawing. Tell me something about your experience, about your perspective on adoption, anything you like, as long as it is respectful of others. It’s as easy as that!
Once the November 30th deadline has arrived, my husband will help me to randomly select one reader as our winner. That reader will receive two books from EMK press, one being “Forever Fingerprints” and one other adoption related book.
Well, wish me luck with my reading event at the library, I will be blogging later in the day about how things went, including some photos. And for everyone who enters the giveaway here, best of luck to you!

Pick me, pick me! (Is that too blatant?)
Good luck with the library reading.
I will read this book to my children one way or another. Thanks for the tip, Deb.
I am mom of 8. My six younger kids came to me through foster care. Three of them have aged out and once the next older one has, we will officially adopt them (3 are siblings that DCFS won’t tpr). Our youngest two have already been adopted, in an open adoption, and I would love to read them this book! They are so proud of being adopted and don’t understand that although they’re bios to each other, their older siblings aren’t biologically related, they’re just their brothers and sisters.
I have two adopted boys in closed adoptions – this is very unusual with the two agencies we worked with (these were both birth moms’ choices). Both boys know they are adopted and we are very open about talking about it(they are 7 and soon to be 30. My husband was also adopted.
I have not heard of this book, but would really like it because most of the adoption books we have here that are age appropriate are more about them coming to our family. Thanks for letting us know about this book.
I never win in draws or lotteries, but maybe I’ll be lucky this time. That book looks wonderful.
Oh, wait a minute, can fellow bloggers enter this contest?
Lisa S.
Sure can Lisa, Consider yourself in the running.
My kids and I loved your reading and the fun fingerprint craft.
Thanks
Sounds like you had a good time at the library. Glad that your friend came and honored you.
We’ve been at our first adoption journey for 2 years now and have just switched to domestic. I devour your posts to see what it’s really like.
I’d like to enter! Always looking for good books to add to our collection.
I could use another picture book for AJ! He loves them now.
