It is still unseasonably warm here in the south, but it is beginning to cool down a tad. Hopefully full fledged autumn will descend upon us soon because I really don’t know how much more I can take of this seventy to eighty degree weather.

Fall has some great photo opportunities! I have a crazy, busy week this week and just wanted to let all of my regular readers know what is up! We will be having guests in our home for a few days as well as going out of town at the end of the week. Yes, I’m crazy! Needless to say, I won’t have much time to be here on the blogs reading or commenting. However, I have been busily writing and trying to get things ready to post in here as well as in the crisis pregnancy blog so there will still be things posting that I have written so don’t stop checking just because I’m not around.

Ok, not this exactly (this is Cierra’s last year preschool version of the same thing) but I want the one that Carson made that looks just like this back. I am not going to ask though, so I am not going to get it. I guess I will just have to hope that it is kept, and treasured, and never makes it with in twenty feet of the nearest trash can. I am pretty sure it will be ok, just not here with me anymore.

In a recent post by Nancy at the Attachment blog, she gave a link to the website of one Sherrie Eldridge, adoption author and public speaker. I visited and was very pleased with what I found there. I would highly recommend the information for all members of the triad who are seeking to understand the perspectives of adoptees, birthparents, and adoptive parents. There were also resources available at the website that could be deemed very helpful for those of us involved in open adoptions.

One morning this past week, I was watching/listening to the Today Show while checking email, reading blogs, etc as I do every weekday early morning. On that particular day Ann Curry, one of the Today Show anchors was interviewing one of the other anchors, Hoda Kotb. Hoda was disusing her battle with breast cancer. Today was difficult...again.

My five year old has so much going on with her behavior that I am honestly not sure we will ever be able to help her heal. We do what we can, with the knowledge we have, but things just do not seem to be changing. This is one very hopeless feeling.

I worry on days like today, when she flies out of control, and I find myself losing all the amassed compassion from the previous short time between explosions, that she is already beyond my help. I hope that I am wrong, but her birthfamily members tell me... more

It is hard to believe that October is already winding down, and soon November will be upon us. Along with one of my favorite holidays (Thanksgiving), November is also the month to think about and celebrate the benefits of adoption.
